David Christiani, Music Director
David Christiani, St. Lambert Choral Society’s Music Director, is a recipient of the Lambertois award given to citizens for outstanding service to the City of St. Lambert. David received it in 2000 in recognition of his fine work as Director of the choir since 1978. His enthusiasm, dedication and high musical standards have been key to the choir’s success over this time.
David has studied with Helmut Rilling and David Willcocks, two of the world’s greatest choral conductors, and is known for his ability to direct mass choral works. Among his other successes, he led the choir to its 75th Anniversary Concert in Montréal’s Notre Dame Basilica. He has shared the podium with Canada’s principal choral conductors, including Elmer Iseler, Bramwell Tovey and Wayne Riddell.
A Master of Music in Choral Conducting (summa cum laude) and winner of the Leslie Bell Prize for Conducting, David sang professionally with the Tudor Singers of Montreal, the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and the Festival Singers of Canada. He was longtime music specialist at The Study School in Westmount and was also, for eight years, Director of the Canadian Centennial Choir in Ottawa.
Today, as Founding President of Evan Productions Inc., he produces large-scale choral concerts.
